Familial Dysautonomia, more simply known as FD, is a genetic disorder that affects the nervous system. Originally considered a childhood disease, current treatment has extended and improved the lives of people with FD to the point where there is now a large teenage and adult population.

This site is meant to give you some information on Familial Dysautonomia and on activities and issues concerning FD in Montreal and Canada.  There are links to other web resources that have more detailed descriptions of FD and its control.

Donations can be made online through CanadaHelps.org

Donations in honour or in memory of someone are gratefully accepted and we will send out a card in your name acknowledging the donation.

Canadian Tax receipts will be issued for donations over $10 Cdn. They are issued in January to meet Canadian Tax deadlines.
